My hairstylist was Shen. She was professional, friendly, charming, and adjusted my preferred haircut to the shape of my face. The cut was amazing. She also groomed my hair a little extra (+ eyebrows) as I was going to pick up a suit this afternoon and she wanted me to look my best. I walked out with one of the best haircuts I've had in a very long time. 5/5

My girlfriend recommend this place for me. After the first time I had my haircut there, I loved it. All the staff are nice and professional. Jacob is my stylist and he did awesome job. He’s cool and made some really good suggestions. Also the extra effort to detail and good communication are the best part. Now I’ve been getting my haircut here for almost five months, both me and my gf are happy with my hair.

Ever since I got recommended by a friend of mine, I never went somewhere else to get my haircut. Mr Han is a very detail oriented and patient person, understanding what I need and also giving me advice from a professional point of view. It’s just too far from me but it’s definitely worth to drive an hour for a nice haircut.

Friendly, attentive, caring and professional staff; great haircuts, perm and/or styling - always reliable, always amasing! Updated Sept 2020: Went back recently now that NYC is opening up - well prepared with cleanliness and safety protocols and everyone wears masks as well as spaced out seating. Had my haircut by Mr. Lee who I always go to - and always walk out looking and feeling great - he also gives tips on how to care for and style my hair for on-going maintenance! If you're in need of a haircut, try Kakaboka and support them especially during these times.

Got a digital perm and haircut at Kakaboka. Seunghyun (their female director) is very skilled and professional, and also super nice. All the other staff were very friendly and gentle as well!

For nearly 20 years I’ve been a regular here, and not once have I been disappointed. Without flashy advertising, this place continues to attract many loyal clients who have been coming even longer than I have. Director Suh & Han not only deliver the latest styles, but also provide tailored services for different head shapes and hair textures. There must be a reason they’ve successfully met the demanding tastes of New Yorkers for almost 30 years. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend: Kakaboka is AMAZING and my trusted go-to salon. The space is bright and clean and welcoming, the staff is kind and responsive and wonderfully professional, and the haircuts and styling are always fantastic. I have been a delighted customer for several years - with regular haircuts and special hairstyling for important occasions - and the Kakaboka team has consistently delivered exactly what I needed, and often much more. Highly recommend coming here for styling/updos! I never got my hair cut here but the 원장님 did an incredible job at styling my hair. It was a simple fishbraid hairstyle but she put so much technique into giving my flat hair volume where it needed and she has an eye for knowing where and how to style hair pieces in a way that complements your face. A bit pricy but recommend for events!!
